Contacts without engagement
This guide matches the Contacts without engagement screen in the panel.
What it is for
Show people who already received a campaign (or a sent automated email) and did not open or click within the window you choose (60, 90, or 180 days). You can clean the list and protect reputation and quota — without spending sends on people who do not react.
What you will do
- Open Audience → Contacts without engagement.
- Choose the day window.
- Review the list (email, last send, tags). Optional: export CSV before deleting.
- Delete selected contacts or all eligible ones — confirm by typing the number shown (the modal lists up to 10 sample emails).
- If needed, restore from the trash in Contacts (
?trashed=only) — in bulk or via “last hygiene deletion”.
Important
| Situation | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Contact without engagement | Received email and did not open or click in the window |
| Never received | Does not appear here |
| Win-back (automatic re-activation email) | Separate feature — this screen does not send email |
Deleting here is soft-delete (trash). It does not erase past bounces or complaints; it only avoids future sends until you restore.
Automatic opens (Apple / preview / bots)
Sometimes the system records an open without the person really reading (iPhone preview, antivirus filters, etc.). That is why this screen only treats “no engagement” as no open and no click — clicks are usually a more reliable signal.
Panel alert
If a large slice of the active base has no engagement, the dashboard and send screen show a warning. You can adjust the threshold (%) on this screen or under Account settings.
Tags and segments
You can apply a tag to selected or all eligible contacts, or save as segment with open/click rules. Segment v1 does not include the “already received a campaign” rule — use this hygiene screen for full cleanup.
