Send metrics

This guide covers the Sends list and the detail page for a blast in the panel.

Where to look

  1. Open Sends in the menu.
  2. Click a send to see detail (numbers, status, and recipients).
  3. On the home dashboard you see a suggested next action, a 7-day summary, quota (with cycle usage chart), rates, and a chart (volume, engagement, or goals).

What each number means

Hover or read the text under each card on the detail page. Summary:

IndicatorIn plain language
RecipientsTotal people in this blast (not “still to send”)
SentHow many emails already left this blast
WaitingHow many have not left yet (only if some are pending)
Confirmed opensPeople who opened for real (some inboxes block tracking; a first pixel hit alone may not count)
ClicksClicks ÷ sent
Clicks among openersClicks ÷ opens — click quality among who opened
DeliveryEstimate: (sent − not delivered) ÷ sent
Not deliveredAddresses that rejected the email (the notice can take minutes/hours)
InvalidPermanent bounce (mailbox does not exist) — do not send again without fixing the address
TemporaryTemporary bounce (mailbox full / greylist) — may work again later
UnsubscribesWho asked to leave the list from this send

Invalid vs Temporary

On send detail, Not delivered splits into two types (when Amazon reports them):

  • Invalid — the address does not exist or was rejected for good. The panel flags the contact and avoids new marketing to that email.
  • Temporary — a short-lived problem (full mailbox, greylist). The contact may enter quarantine and return on their own after some days without a new problem.

Use the recipient filters Invalid / Temporary to review the list and assign tags if needed.

At the top of the detail you also see the “X of Y sent” bar and can Copy summary for a chat or ticket.

Numbers are not a quality grade alone: small base, timing, and subject change the result.

Recipients: who opened / clicked

In the Recipients table you see Opened and Clicked (with time on hover).

  • Filter by Engagement (Opened / Clicked) or by status (Bounce, Sent…).
  • Click a KPI card (e.g. Opens or Recipients) to jump to the list (and filter when it makes sense).
  • With a filter on, use Assign tag to mark those contacts (the tag is added, it does not erase others).
  • Not delivered can be slow: to test the bounce flow, use Amazon’s test address bounce@simulator.amazonses.com.

Statuses you may see

  • Queued / sending — the blast is in progress.
  • Completed — this send’s queue finished.
  • Scheduled — waiting for the time in the account timezone.
  • Paused — the platform or a deadline stopped the rest; what already left stays in the metrics. If the pause is account protection, the send may resume on its own the first time; if it pauses again on the same blast, only support can release it. Detail: why did my send pause?.
  • Partial — only part of the list was included (e.g. remainder of today’s limit). The detail makes that clear.
  • Waiting for capacity — the rest continues on its own when there is room in the day; you do not need to blast again.

Useful actions on detail

  • Send again — starts from a copy of the flow (does not change the old send’s history).
  • Edit campaign — back to content/subject to adjust and test.
  • Recipient list — browse, filter, export CSV, and assign tags.

Good practices

Before comparing rates across campaigns, check that the sending domain is OK and the list is clean — delivery basics.

To prepare the next blast: test and send.
