High bounce — what to do

If the panel shows a bounce rate above your account threshold (default 5% for the week; you can change it under Account preferences), review your list or audience filter. High bounce hurts future delivery.

What it means

  • Bounce = the email did not arrive (invalid address, full mailbox, provider rejection).
  • Invalid (hard) = address that should not be emailed again until fixed.
  • Temporary (soft) = short-lived issue (full mailbox, busy server).

Practical steps

  1. On the Dashboard, open the Attention alert (or the red bounce KPI).
  2. For invalid emails, use View flagged list and remove or fix those contacts.
  3. On the last send, open undelivered recipients (status=bounced).
  4. Before the next CSV import, clean the file — see Import contacts.
  5. Review deliverability basics.
  6. To alert earlier or later, open Account preferences and set Warn about bounce from (1%–20%). This only changes the dashboard alert — it does not pause sending by itself.
